Willie McCreery has his eyes on Friday’s two feature races at the Curragh, with Lethal Promise and Killourney.

McCreery, who trains in Kildare, is looking forward to running Lethal Promise in the TRM – Equine Nutrition Ballyogan Stakes and Killourney in the Listed Equestrian Silver Stakes.

Invincible Spirit filly Lethal Promise overcame a near eight-month absence when winning the Listed Polonia Stakes at Cork four weeks ago.

She showed she was all the better for that when pleasing McCreery in her last workout, over six furlongs on Tuesday, before this week’s Group 3 contest.

“She did her last piece of work this morning and seems in great form, I’m looking forward to running her and stepping her up in grade into group category. She’s won two listed races, and it seems the natural progression – and we don’t have far to go. She’s in great form, and I’d say the ground will be lovely (for her) there too.”

McCreery intends to pitch Killourney into listed company as long as he is happy with conditions for the Zoffany gelding, who opened his account at Gowran last week on his third career start.

“He’ll run if the ground is okay (for him). He’s in great form and came out of his race (well) – so I’m looking forward to stepping him up. He’s a lovely horse and he’ll go there, all being well.”
