KILKENNY’s show jumper Jack Ryan announced he is moving on from Breen Equestrian after two years.

During his time based at Hickstead in West Sussex with Shane Breen, the young rider has climbed up the rankings and made a serious impression on the international stage, including making his senior Nations Cup debut in Vilamoura last year, where the team won, as well as winning a European young rider team medal in 2021. He is set to earn his second senior cap this weekend in Abu Dhabi, alongside his former employee, as well as Trevor Breen and David Simpson.

Ryan said: “Thanks to Shane, Chloe, Team Z7 and all the team at Breen Equestrian for two fantastic years. We had many great days and great friendships made along the way. I am looking forward to the next chapter.”

Writing on social media, Breen Equestrian had high praise for the young rider: “Jack has been a fantastic addition to the Breen Team and we feel privileged to have been part of his journey. We have been thrilled to see him climb the rankings over the last two years and have no doubt he will continue to rise up the ladder.

“Jack has grown as a rider and we have watched him compete and win his first Senior Nations Cup out in Vilamoura where he proved to be an asset to the Irish team, as well as being selected for the prestigious Rolex Young Rider’s Academy in 2021.

“Good luck Jack and we are so excited to see where your future takes you!”
