LAUNCHING their annual Inspectorate Report in Cork this week, The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ISPCA) reported an alarming rise in the number of animal cruelty reports received by the charity with 17,338 calls recorded in 2018.

This week, the ISPCA issued an urgent plea for increased political and public support, saying that animal cruelty cases reached an all-time high last year and are stretching their resources to the limit.
