Paddy Hayes appeals

15-month training ban

TRAINER Paddy Hayes has lodged an appeal against the 15-month suspension he received from the Referrals Committee last week. Hayes, based in Kildare, was found guilty of animal neglect by Naas Circuit Court last December following the discovery of a racehorse in poor condition in his care.

Extra National Hunt meeting at Punchestown Tuesday

OVER 220 entries were received for next Tuesday afternoon’s additional National Hunt at Punchestown.

This meeting is one of the three floating fixtures that were kept in reserve when the 2022 fixture list was published in order to meet the demands of the horse population at specific times of the year.

Racing starts at 1.20pm.

KRISTENE Hunter has won the Connolly’s Red Mills The Irish Field Breeder of the Month award for April.

Based in Mallow, she co-bred Grand National winner Noble Yeats with her husband James and friend Jerry O’Keeffe from Doneraile.
