Severe penalties for Australian jockeys

LEADING Australian jockey Jamie Kah has been suspended for the entire spring racing carnival, along with colleague Ben Melham, for breaching Covid-19 protocols at a house party in Melbourne this week. Kah, who this year became the first woman to win Victoria state’s jockey premiership, and three other riders have been banned for three months following a stewards’ inquiry on Friday morning. All four were each fined over A$5,000 each by local police for breaking curfew and the five-kilometre radius limit.
