Expert advice for breeders, some Cheltenham tips and a chance to win some stallion nominations. What more could you ask for?

ALL are welcome to attend what promises to be an informative thoroughbred seminar in Ballinasloe, Co Galway next Thursday (February 27th).

Organised by the Irish Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association and with free admission, the seminar takes place in the Shearwater Hotel, starting at 4pm. Dinner will be available and the evening will also include some Cheltenham tips and a raffle for six stallion nominations.

The opening session (4pm-6pm) is entitled ‘Animal Husbandry Made Simple’ and the speakers will be Felim MacEoin (Galway Equine Clinic), Nicole Groyer (Connolly’s Red Mills), Andrew Mahon (Master Farrier) and breeder and consignor Troy Cullen.

The after-dinner session (7pm-9pm) will deal with ‘Taxation and Financial Planning for the Stud Farm’with Conor Phelan of Grant Thornton and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Breeders can bring broodmare pedigrees as some industry experts will be on hand to offer analysis and mating advice.

Racing experts are being lined up to give their Cheltenham tips.

Raffle tickets are €10 and will be only available to attendees. Nominations to the following stallions will be given away: Altruistic (Rosshill Farm Stud), Barraquero (Claremont Stud), Gamut (Rosshill Farm Stud), Idaho (The Beeches Stud), My Dream Boat (Starfied Stud/Compas Stallions) and Youmzain (Rathbarry Stud).
