THE sudden passing of photographer and journalist Ruth Rogers at the Midland Regional Hospital on Tuesday night sent shock and much sadness through the sport horse, racing and greyhound industries.

For over 50 years, Ruth’s camera has documented the horse scene in Ireland. A loyal contributor to The Irish Field since the mid 1970s, Ruth has photographed many great horses, including Eddie Macken’s legendary Boomerang, a priceless experience she described as giving her “highs that money could not buy.”
