WITH less than 200 days to go before the UK’s official Brexit departure, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Michael Creed TD pledged that as much preparation work for Brexit is being done by his department.

The UK is set to leave the European Union in just 181 days time from today (Saturday) and all Irish businesses have been urged by the government to Brexit-proof themselves as much as possible. The British market is the most important market for Ireland’s €816 million sport horse industry in terms of equine trading across the Irish Sea, while an estimated €1 million of general trade passes between northern and southern Ireland every hour.
