WILLIE Mullins is preparing a four-pronged assault on the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The Closutton handler bagged eight winners at the Festival in 2018 to become the leading trainer of all time at the showpiece meeting with 61 career successes.

But victory in the blue riband has continued to prove elusive.

His squad this year is led by Irish Gold Cup hero Bellshill and Kemboy, impressive winner of the Savills Chase at Leopardstown’s Christmas fixture.

They are set to be joined by Al Boum Photo and Invitation Only.

Speaking to the press at his yard on Wednesday, Mullins said: “Bellshill has lots of stamina and jumps particularly well, I think. That’s a huge plus for him.

“Kemboy skipped over those fences in Leopardstown and hopefully he’ll be able to do the same in Cheltenham. I think the extra trip will be good for him as well.

“I don’t think we’ve seen the best of Al Boum Photo yet.

“Invitation will probably have to step up a bit.”
