NEWS: Apple's Jade "didn't scope well" following Champion Hurdle
on 15 March 2019
Apple's Jade scoped dirty following her Champion Hurdle run according to trainer Gordon Elliott

Gordon Elliott has not ruled out running Apple’s Jade at the Punchestown Festival after revealing she scoped dirty following her disappointing run in the Champion Hurdle.

The seven-year-old mare saw her unbeaten run this season come to an end in the Grade 1 prize on Tuesday, when trailing home a well-beaten sixth behind Espoir D’Allen after being sent off the 7/4 favourite.

Elliott said: “She was disappointing, but she didn’t scope well after the race. She didn’t run her race and we will put a line through it.

“She has won three Grade 1s this year. We might go back to Punchestown, we will see what happens.”
