ALL horses that returned from the Iberian Peninsula during the recent Equine Herpes Virus (EHV-1) outbreak have fulfilled the requirements of the rigorous testing protocols, with all tests returned negative, Horse Sport Ireland confirmed this week, following the conclusion of the quarantine and testing period.

HSI, the FEI IRL National Head Veterinarian Dermot Forde and representatives from the Irish Equine Centre, put in place a risk management EHV-1 Protocol for FEI athletes and horses returning when the outbreak began in March.
