LAST Sunday’s North Tipperary Foxhounds fixture held at a stormy Nenagh will live long in the memory of 21-year-old Eoin Shaw, who tasted his first victory in the saddle aboard Makeshift (5/2 - 3/1) in the six-year-old and upwards geldings’ maiden run as part of the INHSC €1,000 bonus series.

Making his debut for the Eoin McDonagh-yard, the six-year-old went into overdrive under Killenuale-native Shaw following the penultimate obstacle and took the measure of the favourite Reinvent on touching down at the final fence before a four-length triumph.
