A LATE change of heart from Jessica Harrington yielded a fine dividend as the trainer’s decision to field Jetz for the Grade 3 Coral-sponsored Flyingbolt Novice Chase was rewarded with a clear-cut triumph. Jetz was among a thoroughly disappointing four runner turnout as he returned to a course and distance over which he won his beginner’s chase in November and the horse he beat that day, Duca De Thaix, headed the market at odds-on.

However, the favourite (who was blowing hard post race) looked ill at ease after making a bad mistake at the fourth and could never get to grips with the front running Jetz. The latter was awkward at the first but otherwise he produced a good round of jumping for Paul Townend and he held a commanding lead from early in the straight.
