ON just his second outing since finishing fourth in last season’s Champion Hurdle, Cilaos Emery produced a quality display to dominate the Grade 3 What Odds Paddy? Chase which kicked off an excellent afternoon for Willie Mullins.

The 163-rated Luke McMahon-owned gelding faced no easy task in trying to give 9lb to Daly Tiger, but he did so in a manner that befitted his odds as the 1/2 favourite. Paul Townend’s mount jumped far better than he had done in the Clonmel Oil Chase several months previously and he cruised away from Daly Tiger from the turn in to finish 11 lengths clear.
