THE Group 1-bound So Perfect and the emerging star Etoile made the track’s Royal Ascot Trials Day a highly successful one for Aidan O’Brien who ended the day with a four-timer.

O’Brien could have a juvenile filly of the highest calibre on his hands in Etoile (16/1 - 12/1) who became the first newcomer in the race’s 17-year history to win the Group 3 Coolmore Stud Irish EBF Fillies’ Sprint Stakes. The Seamie Heffernan-ridden daughter of War Front and the Irish Oaks third Gagnoa overcame the notable obstacle of inexperience with more than a touch of style to defeat last month’s course and distance winner Peace Charter by half a length.
