ROYAL Ascot Group 1 winner My Dream Boat will stand at Trevor Badger’s Bridge House Stud in Mullingar, Co Westmeath, in 2018.

Under the management of Micheál Orlandi of Comas Equine, My Dream Boat remains in the ownership of Paul and Clare Rooney who have committed to supporting the horse at stud.

A multiple group race winner, My Dream Boat defeated Found, The Grey Gatsby and A Shin Hikari when landing the Prince of Wales’s Stakes. He also won the Group 3 Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown in a career which saw him make 23 starts over four seasons.

A consistent and tough racehorse, he was particularly effective on soft ground as he showed when winning Group 3 and listed races in France.

Paul Rooney said: “My Dream Boat winning at Royal Ascot was the climax of our racing experience. Clare and I are thrilled with our experience in racing and look forward to our stars of the future, whether it be on the flat or over the jumps.”

Trainer Clive Cox added: “My Dream Boat was a joy to train and gave us a memory to savour when beating Found to win at Royal Ascot. He was sound and consistent throughout and improved his form remarkably through the ranks of handicapping to Group 1 success. He always had a great outlook and a wonderful temperament which matched his good looks.”

Michéal Orlandi described the son of Lord Shanakill as a “good looking and hard-knocking stallion” who will introduce “a new source of speed and stamina to the Irish National Hunt market.” He confirmed that My Dream Boat retires from racing sound of wind, heart and limb.

“It is an honour to be involved in standing My Dream Boat for Paul and Clare Rooney. He was a fantastic racehorse. He is an imposing individual and is commercially priced at €4,000.
