TOM Meagher’s Kedrah House Stud in Cahir, Co Tipperary, has secured an exciting new stallion just in time for the start of the new breeding season.

Berkshire is the latest addition to the Kedrah House roster, joining Well Chosen and Rule Of Law. He is a son of Mount Nelson, who has established himself as a sire of top-class horses over jumps and on the flat. His dam Kinnaird was also a Group 1 winner.

When trainer by Paul Cole, Berkshire won the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot as a juvenile and he followed up in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes at Newmarket on his next start.

In a light three-year-old campaign, he won the Group 3 Darley Stakes over a mile at Newmarket and, aged five, he won at listed level over a mile and a half.

He stood for a season in France before being acquired by Kedrah House in a deal brokered by JC Bloodstock.

Tom Meagher said of Berkshire: “He is over 16.2hh and is a great model, with length and a great walk.”

Kedrah House Stud will host an open day next Saturday (February 9th) between noon and 3pm.
