JOHN Barrett had a big decision to make when he completed his degree in Sports Management in UCD. A golf scholarship from Texas A&M or a position in his father Sean’s insurance brokerages Sean Barrett Bloodstock/ Barrett, Hegarty, Moloney Limited. He opted for the latter, and while the notions of becoming a pro golfer might never have left him (last week’s Ryder Cup scenes likely not helping) he has made a pretty good fist of the career choice he made.
