HARAS du Hoguenet’s middle-distance Group 1 winner Montmartre became the latest stallion son of Montjeu (by Sadler’s Wells) to get a winner at the highest level, either on the flat or under National Hunt rules, when Petite Parisienne beat Kalkir in the Grade 1 Gala Retail Spring Juvenile Hurdle over two miles at Leopardstown last Sunday.
Both represent the first crop of their sire, whose abortive first try at stud reportedly resulted in just one foal.
