IT was just another weekend when an all too familiar sentiment was passed along racecourses, betting shops and living rooms on both sides of the Irish Sea - “Willie Mullins is some trainer.”

The Irish champion jumps trainer kicked off a remarkable two days when Stratum gave him back-to-back wins in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket. The 30-runner contest is often referred to as the most difficult handicap to win on the flat in Britain with many big-name trainers yet to win it. Following a one-two in the race last season, Mullins is making it look easy.
