The thoroughbred Mister Pinch took three runs before winning his maiden in his native New Zealand but followed up his pre-novice debut success at Kedrah Castle last month by winning section B of Saturday’s CNC* on his second start under Eventing Ireland rules.

Born in December 2006, Carol Gee’s chesnut gelding is by His Royal Highness, who is a son of Grosvenor, sire also of the William Fox Pitt’s Rolex Kentucky winner Parklane Hawk. All three wins in Mister Pinch’s 15-race career were over 1,200 metres and he last ran at the end of May 2012.
