It’s no surprise that a horse trained by Willie Mullins is touted as the next big thing given the yard’s tremendous success rate when it comes to unearthing top class prospects on an annual basis. However, when a horse is favourite for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle having had two starts over hurdles in France where he was fourth on his debut, beaten by 15 lengths, and third on his next start, beaten almost seven lengths, that gives us an indication of exactly what he had been showing at home prior to his debut here.

Introduced to Irish racing at Punchestown, Min started 4/11 favourite and dotted up by 14 lengths and looked for all intents and purposes a clone of Faugheen. Not surprisingly, Min is now a general 5/2 favourite for the opener at the Cheltenham festival and his reappearance at Punchestown today means the whole meeting will revolve around one horse.
