IAN Cassells has enjoyed one of his best seasons to date, so it came as no surprise to see him at the top of the rankings in the CCI3*-S.

In fact, he had three horses in the top 10, but it was Kelly’s Quality (bred by Francis Kelly) who lifted the title. An eight-year-old, who as his name suggests is by OBOS Quality, he is out of a thoroughbred mare by Supreme Leader, and he opened in fourth spot, before moving into the pole position after show jumping. A late starter to the sport, the gelding was sourced at Goresbridge just two years ago, and only began his eventing career last spring.
