THE number of runners at Loughrea and Tinahely last weekend was not bad, considering the ground conditions. It was not surprising to see sires such as Presenting, Brian Boru and Beat All have winners – their progeny tend to do well on good ground.

I was in Loughrea and there was a great covering of grass provided by land owner Willie Leahy, whose on-site horse museum and heritage centre has to be seen to be believed.
