HARRY Angel is the latest Group 1 winner bred by Paul and Marie McCartan’s CBS Bloodstock. The £44,000 Goffs UK yearling purchase stepped up to Group 1 class and beat Limato (Tagula) to land the July Cup. This was just the three-year-old’s sixth start and he has won or been runner-up on every occasion. His penultimate start saw him run second to Caravaggio in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.

CBS Bloodstock is based at the McCartan’s Ballyphilip Stud in Co Limerick and the initials stand for Paul and Marie’s three sons Charlie, Ben and Sonny. In recent times Tiggy Wiggy, a £41,000 yearling graduate at Doncaster, flew the flag for the McCartans. Now they have yet another speed star.
