IN spite of his body-cast and orders not to do anything, particularly lifting, Warren Ewing is still able to supervise the 17 horses riding out at his Bernice Stables close to Templepatrick.

“I had to get a few more staff, most of whom come in for the afternoons, but I’ve a good team pulled together and I’m happy with the way the horses are working,” said Warren, who broke one vertebra and suffered compression to another in a recent fall from a three-year-old. “I’d hope a few will be ready to run a couple of weeks into the season.”
