THE South Union Foxhounds have been staging an end-of-season two-day meeting for many years now but that wasn’t always the case.

In 1977, the South Union ran just one meeting, that being on St Patrick’s Day at Corran, Waterfall where there were five poorly-supported races on the card. There were two nomination races during the afternoon, an open which attracted just three starters and the confined where there were seven runners, Jim Still VI carrying 13st to a 10-length success.
