THERE were six meetings in Britain last weekend but just one on Saturday at Brocklesby Park in Lincolnshire where there were five Irish-bred winners on the seven-race card.

Last of the quintet was the four-year-old newcomer Port Of Mars who, under Galway’s Tommie O’Brien, landed the concluding nine-runner open maiden for the owner/trainer combination of Tom Lacey and his daughter Sophie. Last season this trio produced the subsequent dual bumper winner Blackbow.
