IN a very busy month on the British point-to-point scene, two meetings were cancelled because of the weather last weekend leaving seven fixtures to be reviewed, two of them taking place on Saturday.

Irish-breds dominated Sunday’s fare at Godstone where five of the six winners were bred in this country as was the in-form David Maxwell who won the four-runner mixed open at this Mid Surrey Farmers Drag fixture on his own Minerfortyniner. The eight-year-old Catcher In The Rye gelding, who is trained by Kim Smyly, was recording his sixth success, half of those wins coming at Godstone.
