DRAPERSTOWN trainer Noel Kelly (below) has had a quiet time of late but put matters to right last Saturday at Cartmel where William Brown’s Gladiatorial (4/7) landed the opening two-mile, one-furlong novices’ hurdle in the hands of Willie Marshall.

Downpatrick’s Danny McMenamin won the following mares’ handicap hurdle on Calliope for the Dianne Sayer yard and the next race, the extended two-mile, one-furlong handicap novice chase fell to the Donald McCain-trained Onthefrontfoot who was ridden by Brian Hughes.
