WITH so much talk about owners leaving racing, it’s good to see the opposite happening at Sarah Dawson’s Banbridge yard and two people who joined one of her syndicates during lockdown were quickly rewarded at Navan last Saturday.

Janet Duke, who lives locally and visited Tanvally Stud during last year’s Horse Racing Ireland-promoted open morning, is one of the pair who has joined the Diamond Eyes Syndicate, the other being Belfast’s Kevin Kennedy who has become involved in racehorse ownership for the first time. The other two members of the syndicate are Clare Passmore, who is a part-owner of the Dawson-trained Ned Stark and Magic Sea (a winner recently at Bellewstown), and Sarah’s husband Joe.
