THERE were four meetings in Britain last weekend, all on Sunday but, for the sport across the water, the most lauded result came on Saturday at Leopardstown where the Willie Mullins-trained Blackbow won the Goffs Future Stars bumper.

By Stowaway out of a mare by Accordion (two names that popped up regularly over the weekend), the five-year-old Irish-bred gelding won a maiden on his debut at Maisemore Park last March as the 2/1 favourite. He was ridden that afternoon by Galway’s Tommie O’Brien in the colours of trainer Sophie Lacey’s father Tom who, the following month, sold the bay at Goffs’ Aintree Sale to Mullins and Harold Kirk.
