CASTLE Hyde Stud stallion Westerner (by Danehill) is having another good season and the Arc-placed staying ace, who was in eighth place in the general sires list up to Monday night, added another blacktype winner to his tally when Three Stars took the Grade 3 At The Races At Navan ‘For Auction’ Novice Hurdle over two miles last Sunday.

The Henry de Bromhead-trained five-year-old, whose chased home long odds-on favourite Bachasson in the Grade 3 Dolores Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle over the same trip at Tipperary last month, has now won two of his six starts over obstacles and he looks like one to follow.
