THIS year the Meath Foxhounds and Tara Harriers are running their joint autumn meeting on Sunday, October 25th at one of the oldest racetracks in Ireland, that at Dowth Hall between Navan and Slane.

The track is more or less triangular in shape, with one longer side bordering the walls of the estate behind which runs the River Boyne. The meeting was recently launched by representatives of the packs’ point-to-point committee, local producers from the Boyne Valley Food Series and Owen Brennan who purchased the 420-acre property in 2013. Brennan is executive chairman of the Belfast-headquartered international agri-technology company Devenish Nutrition, title sponsor of the point-to-point.
