The National Grand Prix attracted a huge 61 starters and 29-year-old Ger O’Neill was in superb form, guiding two horses through to the jump-off. Ho took the top accolade with Isacorada, a mare by Acorado out of a Pablo dam, who he sold to fellow Kilkenny native Sharon Fitzpatrick last year for her daughter (European pony gold medallist Susan Fitzpatrick) to ride.

Speaking to The Irish Field afterwards, Ger explained how the mare had returned to him.
