GONE are the days when Limerick was just the ‘other’ festival taking place at Christmas time. The progressive mid west track will become the first course in Munster to host a Grade 1 on St Stephen’s Day and there is a lot to look forward to with the feature races later in the week, namely the Tim Duggan Memorial Handicap Chase on Thursday, a potentially classy line up for the Grade 3 Irish Independent Hurdle on Friday and the newly sponsored Grade 2 Sky Sports Racing Launching January 1st Novice Hurdle, which will be previewed in Saturday’s paper.
