Kemboy bounced back from a first fence fall in last week’s Irish National as he claimed the good prize that his talents deserve in the Grade 3 Hugh McMahon Memorial Novice Chase at Limerick on Thursday.

The Willie Mullins representative had shown up well in the JLT at Cheltenham prior to his Fairyhouse exit and he looked quite at home as he stepped up to three miles. In a race where the five contestants took a few liberties with their fences the Paul Townend-ridden winner turned in a generally good round of jumping from the front
