MADAM,

At Balmoral Show, it was fantastic to see the Hunter Championship on Wednesday afternoon in the sun drenched main arena, with the public stands almost full with enthusiastic spectators.

Contrast this with The Dublin Horse Show where the Hunter Championship starts at 7:30am on Saturday morning, and the stands are only open to those with seats reserved for the day. Showing enthusiasts are left to stand and peer from the concrete steps, shivering in the shadows of the near-empty stands.

Obviously the Dublin Show has a packed schedule but surely something could be done to give the Hunter Championship the prominence it deserves and make it more accessible to those who support the showing in Rings 1 & 2 all week?

Yours etc,

Samantha FitzSimons
