THE still unexposed Magnetic North turned out in the form of his life to land the €100,000 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Nasrullah Handicap to credit owner-trainer Sheila Lavery with her first success at premier handicap level.

On just the ninth outing of his career and his fourth in a handicap, the Born To Sea four-year-old amply rewarded his trainer’s decision to take up this challenge despite concerns about the quick ground. Not for the first time, this 10-furlong prize was run at a sedate pace and the Rory Cleary-ridden winner was ideally positioned in third as the sprint for home unfolded off the last bend.
