THE considerable momentum shown by Aidan O’Brien’s juvenile team in recent weeks continued into this fixture where the Ballydoyle trainer may have unearthed another lively classic candidate in Bolshoi Ballet who headed a treble for Seamie Heffernan.

The brother to the classy stayer Southern France was especially green when placed on his debut at Newmarket a fortnight ago but he looked altogether sharper and better here to serve notice that he has pretensions to holding his own at a much higher level. Heffernan’s mount was sent off the evens favourite for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden over a mile and helped to dictate a steady pace. When he was asked to quicken the market leader did so in some style and ran right away from a well grouped field to score by a resounding four lengths.
