AFTER much persuasion by the legendary Hugh Leonard, Trevor Badger finally allowed his thoroughbred Let The Lion Roar go forward to last week’s stallion inspections at Cavan, where the son of Sadler’s Wells was approved and has been added to the Irish Horse Register.

“We’ve broken a lot of his three-year-olds and they are great jumpers,” said Trevor who confirmed that, in spite of his new status and his attraction for the traditional sport horse breeder, the 15-year-old stallion will be standing primarily for the National Hunt sector at the Bridge House Stud near Mullingar.
