AFTER coming up just short in the Cairn Rouge Stakes over this course and distance in July, Lady Wannabe picked up a well deserved listed success in the Dunloe Hotel and Gardens Vincent O’Brien Ruby Stakes which headlined a treble for Chris Hayes.

Some six years after her dam Wannabe Better won this race, the Fozzy Stack-trained daughter of Camelot was the joint highest rated runner in the field and was able to overcome the potentially mortal blow of a wide draw. Hayes got the 5/1 chance into a decent early position and Lady Wannabe kept on well once she struck the front with around two furlongs to run. She finished with one and three-quarter lengths to spare over the improving Waitingfortheday.
