AIDAN O’Brien relies upon Kew Gardens to provide him with a fifth victory in the Betfred Derby Trial at Lingfield on Saturday.

The Ballydoyle handler has claimed this listed prize four times in the last 10 years and Kew Gardens appears to hold strong claims off the back of finishing third in the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket on his seasonal reappearance.

John Gosden saddles impressive recent Yarmouth scorer Corelli, while the Andrew Balding-trained King And Empire makes his return after winning on his only two-year-old start at Kempton in October.

Harry Dunlop’s Newmarket victor Knight To Behold and Karl Burke’s dual winner Wax And Wane also feature in a nine-strong field along with Star Of Southwold (Richard Hannon), Technological (George Margarson), Thrave (Henry Candy) and Thunderhooves (John Ryan).

The powerhouse yards of O’Brien and Gosden also go head to head in the Betfred Mobile Oaks Trial.

O’Brien sends Flattering into battle just seven days after a 10-length romp in a Cork maiden, with Gosden represented by two-times winner Stream Song.

Ralph Beckett, who has won this prize three times, runs Kempton scorer Cecchini, while David Simcock is double-handed with Ejtyah and Lady Of Shalott.

Casima (Archie Watson), Litigation (James Tate), Perfect Clarity (Clive Cox) and Queen Of Connaught (Michael Bell) complete the line-up.

Group Three honours are up for grabs in the Betfred ‘Supports Jack Berry House’ Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes.

The William Haggas-trained One Master and Tajaanus from the Hannon yard both feature among eight runners.
