The victory, which brings his overall tally to nine FEI wins in five weeks, came in the final week of summer competition at the Calgary-based showground.

The 45-strong competition saw only 13 clear rounds across the Anthony D’Ambrosio-designed course. The Offaly-born rider, on board the nine-year-old Hanoverian mare Fantasy, claimed the top spot in the $8,000 Friends of the Meadows Cup 1.45m following a clear round in 70.819 seconds. Their effort relegated Dominican Republic’s Hector Florentino (Anemone’s Vicky), who had lead through most of the competition, into second place while Canada’s Lisa Carlsen (Worlds Judgement) finished in third.
