IT is business as usual at breeding studs around the country, with extra safety measures in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar introduced strict stay-at-home measures for the country on Friday, March 27th until Easter Sunday, April 12th and those measures looked likely to be extended beyond that period as we went to press. However, breeding horses comes under the ‘care of animals’, one of the exemptions to the Taoiseach’s measures.
