MAYO show jumper Jonathan Gordon has been named as Ashford Farm’s new stable rider.

The 22-year-old rider is based in Germany and has been based with Manfred Marschall for the past three years.

In 2015, Gordon jumped a crucial double clear round to secure a team bronze medal for Ireland and in June made his senior Nations Cup debut for Ireland.

Gordon will take over from Marlon Zanotelli and Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli as the stable rider for Ashford Farm on October 1st. The Zanotellis are leaving Ashford Farm to set up their own yard nearby.

Gordon will have a string of horses jumping up to 1.60m level.
