JEZKI overcame a last-flight blunder to stamp his quality on the Leopardstown Classic Trials Day April 14th Hurdle.

Jessica Harrington's 10-year-old isn't quite the force that claimed Champion Hurdle glory four years ago, but he is still a class act and travelled with his customary ease.

Barry Geraghty had to switch around horses to get a run at the top of the straight and Jezki came there cantering at the final obstacle, only to get it completely wrong.

Geraghty allowed him to regain his momentum, however, and the 11-10 favourite soon picked up Lieutenant Colonel before triumphing by two lengths.

Harrington said: "It's great to see him back, although he did his best to capsize at the last. Barry said he was very long but he quickened up well after it.

"I'm delighted with him and it's great to win another race with him. The race was almost written with him in mind.

"He may go to Aintree or may go to Punchestown. It will depend on the ground. He will go to one of those two."
