THE recently published ratings of Japanese racehorses clearly highlight how pervasive Sunday Silence’s genes have become in the Japanese thoroughbred.

The handicappers publish mid-season ratings for all horses rated 100 and higher with turf and dirt horses being categorized separately. In the turf section, 228 active horses received a mark of which 187 (82.5%) carried the genes of the ‘Father of the Modern Day Japanese Racehorse’.
