IT’S not every day you hear a summer Wednesday evening meeting in Roscommon being compared to the Cheltenham Festival, but that’s what it meant to the Mules & Tools Racing Syndicate when Bonarc finally crossed the line in front by four and a half lengths last month.

“Winning that night in Roscommon was like winning a race at Cheltenham for us,” said Tom Wafer, whose family bred the mare in Carnew, Co. Wicklow.
