THE pandemic meant there was no end-of-season competition last year for the Irish Pony Club mounted games players so, when chairman Chris Ahearne and the IPC’s mounted games committee decided to stage this year’s finale at Millstreet, it was obvious that the Co Cork venue would attract a large entry.

Disappointingly, as Covid-19 still affects life in general, there were no visiting teams from abroad last weekend and so no international competition. However, 109 riders for Under 10, Junior and Senior teams from all over the country descended on Millstreet on Friday evening and Saturday morning.
